RULES AND CONDITIONS
 

1. - Each exhibit must consist of Three items from the list below:
(A) - Handmade Picture any medium max. 60cm x 45cm (excluding frame)
(B) - Flower arrangement for a Dining Room table (space allowed 12” x 12”
(C) - Six Potatoes. Any Variety
(D) -Decorated Victoria Sponge (20cm/8” Round)(filling & Decoration must be Non Perishable)
• The Picture must be Handmade. Machine Work will not suffice.
• Potatoes must be grown by the exhibitor.
• Exhibitors may qualify once only
• Two exhibitors to qualify from each qualifying show
• This competition will be judged on a points system
• Points will be awarded for presentation.

 Exhibits to be in place before 11.30 on day of final judging.

 Entry Fee: To qualifying Show €3.  To final €6.

 PRIZES:  1st €250; 2nd €200; 3rd €130; 4th €65; 5th to 25th €30 each.

Rules & Conditions  

  1. Each exhibit should consist of the following: One single rose 
  2. Conditions of stem and foliage to be taken into account. 
  3. Exhibitor must use vases provided by the Show Society  
  4. In this competition, the exhibit must be the property of and be grown by the exhibitor.  
  5. Marquee open from 7.30am on show morning and will be closed for judging at 10am sharp. Marquee will open to the public at 12 noon.  
  6. Exhibits should not be removed before 5.00pm.

This is a Direct Entry All Ireland Championship.
Postal entries closing on 5th July and online entries closing on 17th July 2019

Rules & Conditions:

1. Each exhibitor will bake all items listed below using Odlum's products:

(a) Hedgehog Novelty Cake 7.5” or 9cm Sandwich Tin
(b) 6 Chocolate Chip Cookies
(c) Healthy Bread (BAKED IN 900g / 2lb loaf tin)

N.B. All recipes can be found on the Odlum's website

Own recipes may also be used.

2. The items to be displayed on individual plates and each exhibitor will be allotted their own space. On a base not more than 18" Square.

3. Points will be awarded for texture, taste and appearance of baked items & presentation

4. Competition is opened to youths 18 years & under both male and female, with one entry per exhibitor at the show.

6. The items must be fresh and home baked by the exhibitor

7. All items will be cut and sampled on the day.

8. Judges decision will be final at the competition.

9. Prizewinners will be presented with a certificate and relevant prize.

10. Exhibits are displayed at owner’s risk.

Prizes: 1st: €100 and Goods in Kind, 2nd: €75, 3rd: €50, 4th, 5th & 6th €25.

Odlums All Ireland Home Baking Championship 2019 - Tullamore

THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION & TULLAMORE SHOW SOCIETY PRESENT

 The Odlums All Ireland Home Cooking Championship

1. Each competitor must bake the three items listed using Odlums products:

  • Decorated Chocolate Cake 20cm/8” (Round)

  • 6 Almond Bakewell Slices

  • 6 Roasted Balsamic, Red Onion & Goats Cheese Tartlets

N.B. All recipes can be found on the Odlum's website. Own recipes may also be used.

2. Items to be displayed on individual plates and each exhibitor will be allotted their own space (trays optional) on a base 24" Square

3. Points will be awarded for taste, texture, appearance of baked items and presentation.

4. The competition is confined to amateurs, both male and female, with one entry per exhibitor at the final.

5. The items must be fresh and home baked by exhibitor

6. A special class will be held at each qualifying show. Two entries may qualify from these shows for the final, if judges agree that the standard is high enough. The Qualifiers from each of these shows will go forward to the final, to be held at the Tullamore Show, on Sunday August 11th.

7. All items will be cut and/or sampled at the final

8. Each of the successful qualifiers will receive a hamper containing Odlums products, on appearance at the final

9. Certificates will be awarded to the finalists.

10. The judge’s decisions at all stages of the competition, IS FINAL

11. Exhibits are displayed at owner’s risk

1.  Each enhibitor will bake 3 items:

(A)- Chocolate Biscuit Cake (7” Round or Square Cake Tin)
(B)- Four Chocolate Brownies
(C) -Four Almond Squares

2. The items to be displayed as one exhibit on a base of 2ft x 2ft approx
3. Points will be awarded for texture, taste, and presentation.
4. Competition is opened to amateurs, male/female, and one tray to qualify per exhibitor
5. All items to be homemade by the exhibitor.
6. A Super Valu wrapper to be displayed with the exhibit.
7. A special qualifying class will be held at selected shows.
8. Two trays may qualify for the final if judges agree that the standard is high enough.
9. Judges decision will be final at all stages of the competition.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. The vegetables exhibited should be home grown, by the exhibitor.

2. The collection may contain five (5) kinds of vegetables, three (3) of each kind, apart from beans, peas and potatoes which should have five (5) of each.

3. Cut greenery from the garden, including parsley may be used and will be classified as decoration.

4. The space required is at the discretion of the exhibitor.

5. Points will be awarded for uniformity of size, quality, freshness and artistic appearance of exhibit.

6. Exhibits must be in place by 10.00am on Show Day, Sunday 11th August 2019.

7. Marquee open from 7.30am on show morning and will be closed for judging at 10am sharp. Marquee will open to the public at 12 noon.

8. Exhibits cannot be removed before 5.00 pm.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. In this competition, the produce must be the property of and be grown by the exhibitor

2. Each exhibit is to consist of the following: A dish of 6 potatoes of any variety. The variety to be correctly named. Each tuber should be free from skin blemishes, be true to type, and weigh approximately 6 ozs. (170g).

3. Two exhibits to qualify at each show.

4. This being a quality championship, the adjudicators will favour floury, high dry matter varieties, which are popular with the Irish customer.

5. These rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association Rules.

6. Marquee open from 7.30am on show morning and will be closed for judging at 10am sharp. Marquee will open to the public at 12 noon.

7. Exhibits cannot be removed before 5.00 pm.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

In this competition, the produce must be the property of and grown by the exhibitor.
Each exhibit is to consist of the following: A dish of 5 onions of any variety.
The onions may be grown from either seed or sets.
The onions may be Autumn or Spring sown.
The variety to be correctly named.
Each onion must be tied and weigh not more than 450grams.
The onions to be harvested and have clear unbroken skins.
A special qualifying class will be held at selected shows.
Two exhibits may qualify for the Final, if the Judges agree that the standard is high enough.

The Competition will be judged as follows: Condition/Quality: 25 points, Uniformity and Shape: 25 points Size/Weight: 10 points, Colour: 10 point Overall presentation/attractiveness: 10 points Judges decision will be final at all stages of the competition. Exhibits are displayed at owner’s risk.
These rules should be read in conjunction with the rules of the I. S. A Rules .

Rules & Conditions

  1. All items must be the sole work of the exhibitor.

  2. Each exhibit must consist of 1 Article from point A plus 1 other article from
    points B, C, or D making Total of 2 Articles:
    A. Any article using tweed e.g. Picture (Max Size 18”x16”), Cushion (Min Size 16”x16”- Max Size 18”x18”) or skirt (Adult size only) (this item is obligatory).
    B. Any article in coloured or self-coloured embroidery made in the current year.
    C. Hand Knit cardigan lumber jacket or jumper, Adult size only.
    D. Any article in cotton crochet using no thicker than a No 20 cotton thread.

  3. All the above to be made in the current year.

  4. The items to be displayed as one exhibit.

  5. Any item the judge feels is produced by any other method other than hand shall be disqualified.

  6. A special class will be held at each qualifying show.

  7. One entry may qualify from each qualifying show for the final, if judges agree that the standard is high enough a second entry may be qualified. The Qualifiers from each of these shows will go forward to the final to be held at the Ballyshannon Agricultural Show, on Sunday 18th August.

  8. Each of the successful qualifiers will receive a rosette on appearance at the final.

  9. Judges decision will be final at all stages of the competition.

  10. Exhibits are displayed at owners risk.

  11. The foregoing rules should be read in conjunction with ISA General rules, together with Ballyshannon Show Rules.

  12. Exhibits must be in place for judging by 10.30am on Sunday 18th August 2019.

  13. Exhibits cannot be removed from final before 4.30pm.

RULES AND CONDITIONS
1. This competition is to encourage growers to exhibit produce from their own kitchen garden.
2. In this competition, the produce should be the property of and be grown by the exhibitor.
3. Each exhibit must consist of a display of fruit and vegetables excluding potatoes.
4. Not fewer than 7 kinds.
5. Mixed cultivar permitted to be staged for effect. Foliage and root growth may be trimmed for display purposes, and herbs may be included.
6. The veg and fruit should be displayed within an area not larger than 610mm x 610mm (24”x24”).
7. However, foliage and roots may extend beyond that boundary but not rest on the show bench.
8. Marquee open from 7.30am on show morning and will be closed for judging at 10 am sharp. Marquee will open to the public at 12 noon.
9. Exhibits cannot be removed before 5.00 pm.
THE COMPETITION WILL BE JUDGED AS FOLLOWS:
Variety: 25 points
Condition and quality: 50 point
Overall presentation and attractiveness: 25 points
